![]() Geogreen Work Announced in GCCSI Report Muskoka (June 15, 2010) - The "CO2 storage gap analysis for policy makers" study to be performed by Geogreen on behalf of IEA GHG and the Global CCS Institute (GCCSI) was mentioned in the joint IEA-CSLF-GCCSI report presented at the Muskoka 2010 G8 Summit. The objective of this report will be to inform the G8 members states as to the progress, roadblocks, and next steps needed for achieving gloabl CCS technology deployment goals. Add Comment ![]() Geogreen & Technip Partnership Calgary (June 8-10, 2010) - Cameron McQuale traveled to Calgary with Stefan His, the VP of Technip's Biofuel and Renewable Energy group, where they presented the joint solutions that Geogreen and Technip can provide clients at the annual Global Petroleum Show. An agreement of cooperation between the two companies was formed in 2008 to take advantage of synergies between their carbon service offerings. ![]() Workshop Participant Golden, Colorado (May 17-18, 2010) - Cameron McQuale was a participant in the IEA-GHG's 5th meeting for its CCS Risk Assessment Network. The meeting focused on risk methodologies and the effects of upcoming regulations on risk assessment needs. ![]() US CCS Conference Pittsburgh (May 5-7, 2010) - Cameron McQuale, in charge of Geogreen's business development operations for North America, attended the DOE-NETL 9th Annual Conference on Carbon Capture and Sequestration where he presented on Geogreen's work on a Bio-CCS feasibility study. The study, performed with BRGM, CNRS, and the University of Orleans in France, examined various scenarios for capturing, tranporting, and storing CO2 from the Artenay sugar beet biofuel refinery in central France. ![]() Symposium Sponsors Paris (November 5-6, 2009) - Geogreen sponsored the 3rd International Symposium "Capture and Geological Storage of CO2," which has been organized by ADEME, IFPEN, and BRGM at Cité de Science in Paris. During the event, Gilles Munier presented on the potential for industrial scale CO2 capture, transport, valorization, and storage as revealed by a case study that Geogreen has developed to explore the potential for carbon management in the South of France. ![]() Event Sponsorship San Diego (November 2-4, 2009) - Geogreen sponsored SPE’s international conference on "CO2 Capture, Storage and Utilization" in California. Geogreen supports the development of CO2 utilization and is involved with several efforts involving the re-use of CO2 as an effective part of the overall carbon management solution, notably with its work on Bio-CCS and a project idea for a multi-source emissions management project in the South of France. ![]() Visit to IFPEN Rueil-Malmaison (October 13, 2009) – The French Minister of the Environment came to IFPEN to learn about recent clean-tech developments. During her visit, Gilles Munier was afforded the opportunity to present Geogreen’s international development strategy, the relevance of the creation of a company targeting a future market, and the benefits of having public and private shareholders to Mrs. Jouanno. ![]() CCS Workshop Cadiz (September 13, 2009) - Gilles Munier attended the SPE forum in Cadiz, Spain. The main objectives of the conference were to outline CCS implementation potential in oil and gas industries from upstream (production) to downstream (refining). ![]() Geogreen Discusses CCS Paris (May 19, 2009) - Pierre Le Thiez participated in a debate organized by the French Academy of the Sciences, where he presented the science and economics behind the capture, transport, and geological storage of CO2 (CCS), explaining that "The technologies used to capture, transport, and store CO2 (CCS) have become a key element, notably in the strategy for Europe, for reducing CO2 emissions. The CCS chain, which is particularly adapted to large stationary emission sources, could compliment other solutions (e.g. energy efficiency, renewables) by contributing roughly 15 percent of the CO2 emission reductions required of Europe by 2030." |
