CCS Development Outlook
Paris (November 26, 2009) -  The French newspaper, L'Usine Nouvelle, quoted Gilles Munier in article called "CO2 Capture and Storage Going Industrial."  “‘Things are moving quickly now, especially in Europe - faster even than I could have imaged,’ explains Gilles Munier, the CEO of an engineering firm named Geogreen, which is specialized in these sorts of questions [concerning CCS]. ‘In order for the industrial development of carbon capture and storage of CO2 to become a reality, there needs to be more focus on potential funding mechanisms and a consistent international regulation should be put into place.’”

Geogreen Interviewed
Paris (October 29, 2009) - Gilles Munier was interviewed by Charles Delaere of Commerce International for the article "Geogreen: A tactical partnership to reduce CO2 emissions."  In the interview, Gilles explained the drivers for CCS and his vision for Geogreen. “Today, this is an emerging area, and we are advising our clients in their thought process and strategic decisions on carbon management for their sites,” Gilles Munier continues. “Our goal is to allow them to have an overarching vision of the issues and constraints associated with implementing a CTS system, starting in the pre-project phase. But in the middle-term, we will be working on the design and operation of storage sites.”

Geogreen Featured in Magazine Article
Paris (September 30, 2009) - Gilles Munier discussed Geogreen's vision for CCS development in an Interview for CleanTech Republic: "'Regarding CO2 storage, industrial leaders and stakeholder organizations surpassed a phase of mere curiosity long ago. Now they are at the experimentation stage in an activity that could be very strategic in the future’ says Gilles Munier."

Interview with Le Monde
Paris (June 11, 2009) - Pierre Le Thiez was quoted discussing the economics behind CCS in the French newspaper Le Monde in an article titled "Testing the wind for CO2 capture and storage – a cost that remains misunderstood," which deals with the emerging market for CO2 services. "Capturing, transporting, and storing CO2 represents an additional energy cost. For power plants, for example, the resulting increase in energy requirements is estimated to range between 20 and 30 percent compared to a plant that does not have to mitigate its greenhouse gas emissions."

CASTOR Project Recognized
Dhahran (April 16, 2008) - During the CSLF's (Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum) technical meeting held in Saudi Arabia, Pierre Le Thiez was rewarded by the DOE for his coordination of the CASTOR Project. This project was aimed at proposing technologies enabling capture and sequestration of 10% of CO2 emissions in Europe. As explained by IFPEN, "The European Castor project, [was] aimed at developing technologies for the capture and storage of 10% of Europe’s CO2 emissions, has just been completed. Castor is among the six successes of the FP6 (out of a total of 40 projects) selected by the European Commission. Moreover, Pierre Le Thiez was rewarded by the US Department of Energy for his role as project coordinator."
