6th Risk Assessment Network Meeting
Pau (June 21, 2011) - Yann Le Gallo presented the MANAUS Project to develop a CCS rIsk managament methodology at the IEA-GHG's 6th Risk Assessment Meeting, organized by the IEA GHG and BRGM in Pau, France. Le Gallo provided some of the early results from MANAUS  (Méthodologie d’ANAlyse Unifiée et de gestion des risques liés au Stockage géologique de CO2), which is an ADEME-sponsored collaborative project with BRGM, IFPEN, INERIS, OXAND and PHIMECA.

SPE Conference Co-chair
Brisbane (June 19, 2011) - Pierre Le Thiez, Geogreen's Executive Vice President, co-chaired two sessions, on "CCS Economics" and "New CCS Challenges and Opportunities", at an SPE Applied Technology Workshop on Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) in Australia. Prior to the workshop, Gilles Munier, Geogreen's CEO, served on the Technical Program Committee to help organize the topics to be covered by this event. The discussions were divided between twelve sessions focussing on the different elements of the CCS chain and the business models required to realize such projects.

CSLF Workshop
Al Khobar (March 1-2, 2011) - Pierre Le Thiez attended the meeting in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia as the French representative to the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum, which was created by the US DOE to promote excellence in CCS development. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the CSLF co-organized this “Storage and Monitoring Projects Interactive Workshop” and Le Thiez co-chaired with Ali Al-Meshari of Saudi Arabia a session entitled “CO2 Storage Capacity Methodologies and Standards”.

ACI 3rd Annual CCS Summit
Bari (May 18-19, 2011) - Jonathan Royer-Adnot, who is responsible for Geogreen's business development in Europe and South America, represented Geogreen at ACI's third annual Carbon Capture & Storage Summit in Itally. The event brought together "leading CCS experts from the oil & gas industry, power generators, utility companies, technology providers and academia around the world to discuss the latest political and technological developments for which it is renowned as well as assess carbon capture progress within other industries such as steel, refining and cement."

10th Annual CCS Conference
Pittsburgh (May 2-5, 2011) - Yann Le Gallo, Geogreen's Operations Manager, and Cameron McQuale, in charge of Geogreen's business development in North America, traveled to Pennsylvania to attend the DOE-NETL's 10th Annual Conference on Carbon Capture & Sequestration. There Le Gallo gave two presentations on studies performed by Geogreen. One presentation was on Geogreen's work to build a GIS planning tool for KAPSARC to assist their efforts to realize CCS deployment in Saudi Arabia. The second presentation revealed the results for a study performed by Geogreen for the IEA-GHG and the GCCSI in order to determine the status of global CO2 storage options, regional/national charaterization efforts, and to highlight the gaps that exist in terms of realizing a broad deployment of CCS by 2050.

Brazilian CCS Conference
Rio de Janeiro (April 18-20, 2011) - Jonathan Royer-Adnot, in charge of Geogreen's business development in South America, attended The Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute's (IBP) 1st Brazilian Congress on CO2 in the Oil, Gas and Biofuels Industries. The event was aimed at mapping the research and technological developments on CO2, mainly in the oil industry. Royer-Adnot presented Geogreen's solution for CO2 storage engineering and discussed the merits of Bio-CCS for the Brazilian situation.

Industrial CCS Workshop
Rio de Janeiro (April 7-8, 2011) - Yann Le Gallo, Geogreen's Operation Manager, traveled to Brazil to the 3rd workshop for a UNIDO project on industrial CCS deployment in developing economies. "As part of the Roadmap, two additional assessments were completed to inform the road mapping activity...One, on source sink matching for industrial installations, was completed by Yann Le Gallo (Geogreen). This assessment is intended to give decision-makers and industry stakeholders essential information related to the deployment of industrial CCS."

Risk Workshop at Le Havre
Le Havre (April 7-8, 2011) - Pierre Le Thiez, Geogreen's Executive Vice President, presented Geogreen's approach to dynamic risk management for CO2 storage projects at a Workshop on "Risk Assessment and Management in Capture, Transport and Storage of CO2 (CTSC) activities: methods, experiences and perspectives" organized by Mines Paris at ISEL's facilities in Le Havre, France. He also announced Geogreen's participation in the "MANAUS" project on CO2 storage risk. The goal of this project, financed by (ACTOR) was the development of a universal methodology for CO2 storage risk assessment. 

 
 
IPGP & PTRC
Franco-Canadian CCS Workshop
Paris (March 30-31, 2011) Pierre Le Thiez, Geogreen's Vice President, and Cameron McQuale represented Geogreen at the PTRC and IPGP joint-organized 2nd Franco-Canadian CCS Workshop on CCS at IPGP's new offices in central Paris. Le Thiez presented an update on CCS in France and gave Geogreen's outlook for North American CO2 project development. Veolia and Arcelor Mittal, who were also in attendance at the workshop, recognized the work that Geogreen has performed for their respective CCS projects in France. Technip also highlighted their alliance with Geogreen and their joint business development efforts, notably in Canada.

Club Inno-Risk discusses CCS
Aix en Provence (March 18, 2011) - Yann Le Gallo, Geogreen's operation manager, attended the Club Inno-Risk meeting organized by Pôle Risques in the south of France. The one day session titled "The Social Acceptability of Geological CO2 Storage" discussed the viability of using past storage risk examples to inform the current research on CO2 storage risk and the impacts this association could have on the public perception of CCS.
